Unitly is built for Canadian landlords first. Data is currently hosted in established US cloud regions. We are evaluating Canadian-region hosting as we grow. We rely on our infrastructure providers for the underlying servers, networking, and physical security of the data centers.

A short list of established providers helps run Unitly. Each handles a specific, limited part of the service.

The managed database performs automated backups with point-in-time recovery through our database provider, so recent changes can be restored if something goes wrong. No backup system is a substitute for keeping your own copy, which is why you can export your data at any time.

Data is encrypted in transit using HTTPS and TLS, and encrypted at rest by our database provider. Access is property-scoped, so only the people you invite to a property can see that property’s data. Managers and tenants see only what their role and property assignment allow.

Rent and subscription payments are processed by Stripe. Raw card and bank details are never stored on Unitly servers. We keep references and payment status so you can track payouts, but the sensitive credentials stay with the payment processor.

You can export your data at any time, and you can request account deletion. Exporting gives you a copy of your records to keep, move, or archive on your own terms.

We keep your data while your account is active so your leases, payments, and history stay available to you. When you delete your account, your data is removed from the live service, and residual copies age out of backups over time. Because you can export at any point, you always control your own long-term copy.

Unitly is built for Canadian landlords, and we aim to handle personal information in line with PIPEDA, Canada’s federal privacy law for private-sector organizations. If you have questions about how your tenants’ information is handled, we are happy to walk through it.

Because you can export your data at any time, you always keep a copy of your records. If the service were to wind down, your exported data remains usable independently of Unitly.

A public version endpoint lets you verify which build is deployed at any time. A formal public status page is on our roadmap. We do not advertise a specific uptime guarantee, and we would rather be honest about that than promise a number we have not committed to.

Unitly is built and operated by a small independent team focused on simpler software for small and independent landlords. We are not a large enterprise vendor, and we try to be straightforward about what the product does and how it handles your data.
